    About this event

    September 20, 2024_ 11:00-12:30 PT

The NASA TechRise Virtual Field Trip for students and educators was on September 20th - from 11:00-12:30 PT! This FREE event was designed to inspire sixth—to 12th-grade students about space exploration and to encourage them to enter the NASA TechRise Student Challenge. The event included a special NASA welcome and presentation by NASA Astronaut Jessica Watkins. Participants also had the opportunity to participate in live Q&A. Additionally, participants also learned about this year's exciting NASA TechRise Student Challenge and how to participate in a Free classroom coding event!

Thinking about student privacy? We like the way you think! Registration was required. Students did NOT go on camera or share audio and there was NOT a public chat. However, the field trip was interactive! Students were able to submit questions directly to speakers/hosts and came prepared with questions. Students' questions were answered live on the virtual stage!

Wondering if you can attend if you're not 6th - 12th grade? While this field trip was meant for students eligible for the NASA TechRise Student challenge, anyone with a Future Engineers account was able to RSVP and join.
